It’s been a while since I’ve done a tablescape roundup, and I’ve decided it’s about that time again to share some of my favorite tables with you. When it comes to entertaining, I like to keep it simple and easy. We’re all so busy and we don’t always have time to create elaborate tablescapes, so in an effort to make my life easy, and yours, I always turn to my go-to roster of dishes and and glassware to start off my tables. You’ll notice many repeats from table to table, and simple items like a salad plate or napkin, can make all the difference in creating something new and fresh. You all know of my love of blue and white, so that’s a big recurring theme as well. One of the tricks I often use are faux florals, or no flowers at all – you don’t always have to have a fresh-cut floral centrepiece to adorn your table! Take the pressure off and find ways to build up your arsenal so that you can create a magical table on a whim. Be creative, look around your home for items that you can pull together to build a beautiful, elegant tablescape for your guests. I’ll start my roundup with an all-time favorite table, my blue and white alfresco theme from last Summer. When we made over our backyard patio last year, I was sooooo thrilled to have a real, grownup space to entertain family and friends. This outdoor setting is incredibly relaxing and is the ideal spot to enjoy our time outdoors. We absolutely love it here.
Adding layers of pattern and texture to my tables is one of my favorite ways to bring visual interest and create something different a unique entertaining experience. I found this adorable tablecloth last year with this pretty little red pom-pom fringe detail. Using the pattern as a jumping off point, I decided to layer many different patterns to create ‘visual tension’. By keeping the color palette monochromatic, it’s both easy on the eyes and beautiful to look at as your eye wanders around the table. Another one of my favorite tables is this Spring-inspired, buffet-style setting that is both casual and elegant. This idea was to create an easy table that anyone can throw together for a morning brunch, or some light appetizers. The rustic, casual vibe makes for effortless and simple entertaining.
I love to use fresh produce as ‘accessories’ or as a centrepiece on my tables as well – it’s inexpensive and always beautiful, it creates that fresh, farm-to-table idea that’s both comforting and inviting for your guests. A few fresh bouquets from Costco as well, and this table cost less than $30 to put together! I used simple, blue and white striped turkish towels in lieu of a runner – so easy! GET THE LOOK:
A departure from blue and white, this black, white and gold table accented with lavender and touches of silver for Valentine’s day, is a modern take on the traditional them. This color palette is both feminine and masculine and I love the graphic punch the greek key brings to this table. Lavender is such an underrated and underused color, and it goes so beautifully with so many other colors in the spectrum!

GET THE LOOK:
This New Year’s table is chic and sophisticated, and I went with an easy to pull together look for this one. I wanted it to be cool with an icy vibe, hence the clear beads scattered down the center, paired with staggered crystal and silver candleholders. Layering table runners crosswise is something I do often, and this look was fun to create with the glitzy gold sequins atop the two different blue runners.
The pale aqua ‘runner’ is actually a curtain panel, folded a few times. I love to use curtains on a table! You can often find beautiful colors and patterns that you may not see as a runner. I’ll use large pieces of fabric, scarves, towels – anything that can bring something different to my tables. You don’t have to always use the same basic tablecloth! GET THE LOOK:
Warm, rich tones adorn this Thanksgiving table, with a centrepiece of oranges as the focal point. I used two rectangular platters filled with fresh, seasonal produce and some added faux foliage tucked in and around everything to create a beautiful, bountiful table. This was so quick to create and very inexpensive as well. Entertaining at it’s easiest, that looks like it took hours to create!
The gold tablecloth, flatware and chargers are the perfect compliment to the rich Fall color palette, and brings a true harvest feeling to the table. Accented with orange votives and rich yellow pillows, I love the warm tones of this tablescape. You can read the full post here. 
GET THE LOOK:
Last Christmas, I wanted to create very a classic themed table, using fan-favortie ‘blackwatch’ tartan, as the main pattern down the centre, the napkins and some ribbon. Touches of gold take this look from casual to chic in an instant. Again, I went with layers of fabric, since I couldn’t find runners that I liked, paired together with a gold print runner, all layered over a classic white tablecloth.
Large sprigs of fresh-cut pine, hydrangeas and metallic pinecones create a beautiful, lush centrepiece as well. I loved this table last year! You can read the full post here.
GET THE LOOK:
This past Easter was all about vibrant hues mixed with classic blue and white – I think this is one of my favorites! I wanted lavender to be the supporting color for this classic palette, and pulling in the soft pinks and greens into the mix (both faux and real florals) added just the right amount of punchiness.

This next one is a little different with the strong use of pattern to create some visual interest. Black and white greek key salad plates paired together with blue and white chinoiserie? Two completely different patterns that might ‘clash’ actually play off of each other in a fresh and unexpected way.
This centrepiece is a mix of different types of faux foliage, which I love to use. It’s easy to manipulate (this is a combination of two garlands and picks inserted throughout), it lasts forever, and there’s no mess to clean up. I layered striped fringed blankets over the table for a casual vibe, that’s not too serious as well. Have a look at this rich Fall tablescape here.

Moving on to a more traditional table this past Valentine’s Day, I created a neutral look with the idea that this can be used for any occasion as well. This centrepiece is also only faux flowers – it amazes me how beautiful and versatile faux can be!

The last table I’m sharing today uses a fun and vibrant color palette. Pink, coral and orange, paired with blue and white. Unexpected and out of the box, it brings life to this table which I love. To keep to from being too ‘loud’ visually, I kept everything else neutral with greys and silvers, which balance those juicy hues.
I love carnations, and feel that they’re completely underrated! When you cluster them, they are gorgeous, and they’re so inexpensive. You can usually find them at the grocery store, which makes using them even better. Thanks for reading along today, I hope you found some ideas for your next gathering – remember, make it easy for yourself, look around your home for items that you can use as a centrepiece, or to accent your table. Go to the grocery store and use what you can find! Start building a collection of faux florals – you will not regret it! I turn to mine over and over, and not just for my tables! Use unexpected color combinations, or mix different patterns that you wouldn’t normally think of pairing together. I promise, you will be pleasantly surprised by the results. I approach my tables the same way I approach my decorating – so much of what I pull together is through trial and error, and seeing what works together and what doesn’t, and of course, what I love.
